On a rain soaked field at Madison City Stadium on Friday night the James Clemens Jets and Hewitt Trussville Huskies battled back and forth for the right to move on in the AHSAA Class 7A playoffs. The Jets managed several explosive plays and sustained drives to tally 41 points against an athletic Husky defense that featured several D1 college commitments. The Jets ultimately left too much time on the clock after going up 41-37 with 4:06 to go in the game. The Huskies drove 97 yards to score the go ahead TD and held off the last gasp effort of James Clemens to advance with a 43-41 victory.
The Jets finish the season with a 7-4 overall record, a perfect 7-0 region record, the first region championship in school history, and a win over cross town rival Bob Jones for the first time in school history.
