James Clemens High School Swim and Dive team competed in their second meet of the season at Dublin Park in Madison on Tuesday, September 18th. Both the men’s and women’s team ranked in the top three. The men’s team placed first overall with 165 points while the women’s team placed second, falling short to Bob Jones by a 6 point difference. Both teams had several top place individual swims.
For the women’s team, Anna Mead started the meet off strong by winning the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:03.58. She also placed fourth in the 100 yard breaststroke.
Emma Williams placed third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:07.99 and second in the 500 free with an overall time of 5:43.34. Rebecca King won the 500 yard freestyle with the overall time of 5:33.31. King also took second in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:04.29.
Lusiana Levan won the 100 yard butterfly with a personal best in-season time of 1:00.84. She also placed third in the 200 Individual Medley.
Mackenzie Holtcamp, a senior captain for the girls’ team, placed first in the 50 yard freestyle as well as the 100 yard freestyle. She was also on the winning 400 yard freestyle relay along with Anna Mead, Rebecca King, and Lusiana Levan.
For the men’s team, Noble McMaster placed second in the 200 freestyle with Caleb Williams finishing in at a close third. McMaster also went on to win the 100 yard freestyle while Williams claimed victory for the 100 yard backstroke.
Mason Holtcamp finished second in the 200 Individual Medley and third in the 100 yard backstroke with a personal best time of 1:01.63. Eric Messer finished first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 23.85. He also swept the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 55.16. John Choung placed third in the 100 yard freestyle and second in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.85.
Brennan Bush took second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:27.43 while Connor Black took third with a time of 5:56.22.
The men’s relay team of Caleb Williams, John Choung, Eric Messer and Noble McMaster won the 200 yard Medley. Messer, McMaster, Williams and Bush also took first place in the men’s 400 yard freestyle relay.
