Congratulations to the JAMES CLEMENS / LIBERTY CROSS COUNTRY TEAM on their opening Meet at the BROOKS INVITATIONAL held at McFarland Park in Florence Alabama.

30 Schools participated in the meet with beautiful 65-75 degree weather on a very wet slippery course.

The Team brought home three trophies; 2 medals and 21 Personal Records.

James Clemens Varsity Girls Team won the VARSITY 5K meet winning the OVERALL TEAM CHAMPION TROPHY.

The Jets were led by Elizabeth Holcomb 4th place 20:31, followed by three other JETS in the top 12 Overall: (Senior) Sam Burns 10th place21:43; (8th gr) Sydney Freeman 11th place 21:49; and (9th gr) Sarah Shirley 12th place 22:30.

The  James Clemens Varsity Boys Team finished as the 3rd place team in the VARSITY 5K. They were led by a tight pack of all five scorers, ONLY separated by 33 seconds: (Senior) Nicholas Holcomb 18:21; (10th gr) Elliott Kliesner 18:33; (10th gr) Garrett Nix 18:35; (11th gr) AJ Sheldrick 18:45; and (Senior) Korey Shively 18:54.

BOTH Junior High Teams finished in 2nd place in the 2 mile race, winning the RUNNER-UP trophies in the Girls and Boys division.

The JH girls were led by Nikki Lipski earning the 3rd place overall medal 14:21; followed by three other JETS in the top 10: Emmy Mattingly 5thplace 14:35; Kaija Sorensen 9th place 14:57; and Harley Samsil 10th place 14:59.

The JH boys were led by Isual Rubio earning the 3rd place overall medal 12:11; followed by four other runners in the top 21: Jackson Hellums 10th place 12:25; John Velez 15th place 12:50; Dylan Templet 19th place 13:00 and 21st place Tynan Gibson 13:03.

The JAMES CLEMENS JETS will compete again next Saturday September 9 2017 on the State Meet course in the Chickasaw Trails Invitational which will feature over 100 schools from around the south.
