James Clemens Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Grissom

For the second time this year, James Clemens defeated Grissom, this time 4-1 on Saturday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at one with James Clemens batting in the bottom of the sixth when there was an error, scoring two James Clemens runs. Grissom knotted the game up at one in the top of the fourth inning. Junior pitcher, Zach Toth earned the win for James Clemens. He went seven innings, allowing one unearned run, three hits, striking out three Grissom batters, and walking one. Jared Barnes, Tommy Crider, and Cannon Clark each drove in one run to lead the James Clemens Jets.
Austin Mann went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Grissom in hits. Grissom pitcher, Wes Widner, threw all six innings for the Tigers, allowing four unearned runs, five hits and struck out one James Clemens batter.
James Clemens is now 15-10 for the season. Grissom is 18-10 this year.
