Multiple Teams · Cross Country Excels at ‘Last Chance’, Headed to Postseason

Congratulations to the James Clemens girls and boys cross country team on their performance in the Last Chance Cross Country Invitational hosted by James Clemens HS at Palmer Park in Madison. The girl’s team finished as runner up champions narrowly losing to Buckhorn by only 2 points. James Clemens had 5 elite runners finishing in the top 20 runners out of 105 runners: 8th place Kristin Day 19:56; 9th place Elizabeth Holcomb 19:58; 13th place Adan Youngblood 21:14; 18th place Grace Williams 21:37; and 20th place Katy Casamatta 21:50.

The Section 4 class 7A meet will be the next meet for the James Clemens Jetson Thursday November 3, 2016 at Bob Jones HS. The top three teams in the section meet will advance to the state meet along with the top six individuals not on the section qualifying teams.

The girl’s team carries a number 2 section ranking and a number 5th state class 7A ranking into the section meet. The girl’s team has finished in the top two teams bringing home trophies in meets this season:

The boy’s team finished as the 3rd place team. James Clemens had 4 elite runners finishing in the top 20 runners out of 192 runners: 12th place Jase Bell 17:03(fastest race ever); 13th place Alex Shah 17:12(fastest race ever); 15th place Nicholas Holcomb17:21 (fastest race ever); and 20th place Korey Shively 17:33.

The boy’s team carries a number 4 section ranking and a number 9th state class 7A ranking into the section meet.
