Softball Rolls Into Rankings

The James Clemens Jets softball team rode strong wins over 7A # 7 ranked Sparkman (10-4) and 6A # 5 Hazel Green (3-1) to a fifth place ranking in the first ASWA rankings of the season. The Jets are currently 7-5-1 overall. Reece Throws No-No

Senior pitcher Jackson Reece no-hit Class 5A second ranked Etowah on Friday, March 15th. Reece struck out 1o in a 13-0 victory for the Jets. Etowah had only one base runner due to an error. Reece previously held Thompson and Huntsville in his previous two outings. The Jets are 13-5 overall for the season.   Read

Boys Basketball All Region

Garrett Hicks earned a spot on the AL.Com All Region Basketball team. Hicks The Alabama A&M signee averaged 17.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.3 steals was also named on the Class 7A third-team All-State. Indoor Record Breaker

Congratulations to the JAMES CLEMENS INDOOR TRACK TEAM on finishing in the TOP 5 Teams at the STATE MEET 5 years in a row (2015 3rd; 2016 STATE RUNNER-UP; 2017 3rd; 2018 3rd; 2019 5th). Lady Jets Make History

The Lady Jet Basketball team made history by advancing to the Northwest Regional Tournament in February for the first time in school history. The Jets fell behind early and finished the first quarter down 17-2 but battled toe to toe with Spain Park over the remaining 3 quarters. The Jets evantually fell to the Jags 60-38.

Verkest To Play Lacrosse at BSC

Trinity Verkest has signed to play lacrosse at Birmingham Southern College. Trinity was selected to represent the USA on the AIST Team in France and the UK. She is the team captain of the JETS Lacrosse club team. She plans to pursue business and English literature in college. Read more about Trinity and her accomplishments

Jets Sign Two Softball Players

James Clemens held a signing ceremony for two varsity softball players on 1/31. Lila Young signed with UAH as a shortstop. She was an AHSAA North South All Star as a junior and second team all state. Holly Sharp signed to play with Huntingdon College as a pitcher. Lila plans to pursue dentistry and Lila will enter the medical field.

Boy’s Basketball Downs Austin To Advance

The James Clemens boys basketball team led by as much as 20 over the Austin Black Bears in the first round of the class 7A Area 8 Tournament on Thursday before the Bears closed the gap to 7 late. It was too little too late for the Black Bears, who had previously defeated the Jets

Girl’s Basketball Dominates Florence in Area Tourney

The James Clemens girls basketball team has won 7 of their last 9 games heading into tonight’s Area 8 tournament championship game with host team Austin. No win perhaps in school history was more important than the 51-37 victory over Florence on Wednesday night. With the victory, the Jets are assured a slot in next
